World-scale projects keeping us Megawatt busy

Monday, April 11, 2011

There’s never a quiet moment at MIPAC and this month’s newsletter details some projects that have been keeping our talented team of engineers busy over the past few months.

Our work with Xstrata Copper late last year saw us develop solutions to a substantial challenge: moving the largest refrigeration plant of its kind in the world. Relocating the 24.5 Megawatt plant was a mammoth task but one our engineers tackled with gusto. Thanks to Xstrata Copper’s detailed planning and MIPAC’s knowledge and experience, the job was completed safely, on time and under budget.

In addition to working on sites all over the world – from Armenia and Khazakhstan, to Mexico, Chile and Peru — MIPAC’s team also works in its home town of Brisbane. We recently took on a supervisory role at the BP Cogeneration Plant on Bulwer Island near Brisbane Airport. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with the Bulwer Island Energy Partnership.

The newsletter also introduces new graduate Cayden Mayer. Cayden joined MIPAC while still at university and we now welcome him as a full-time systems engineer.

I trust our newsletter will be of interest to you. If you have any questions about how MIPAC can help your business become more efficient and profitable, please do not hesitate to contact me on Tel. (+61 7) 3212 5600 or via www.mipac.com.au/contact.htm
