The site audit and modelling results has helped with standardisation and optmisation of radio's, antenna's and location of the radio base station.

Global miner engages MIPAC to take a proactive approach to environmental management

MIPAC is preparing a design concept for an environment monitoring and information recording system for a global miner.

The multi-million-dollar project will monitor mine sites, concentrator and smelting facilities as well as the local residential area.

Assessing environmental factors such as water, air, dust and noise aims to reduce the site’s effect on the environment, meet government reporting requirements and assist the miner to maintain its licence to operate.

MIPAC engineers meet with world’s main copper producer, Codelco

MIPAC business development manager Darren Hill (left) and managing director Eddie De Rivera recently met with Codelco management at the copper mining company's offices in Santiago, Chile.

Codelco is the world’s major copper producer, controlling about 10 per cent of global reserves.

Darren and Eddie met with Codelco management to discuss how MIPAC’s experience in copper mining, concentration, smelting and refining could contribute to the improvement of Codelco's operations.


 

MIPAC invited to present at Automining 2014, Chile

Process control engineering firm, MIPAC, has been invited to present a paper at Automining 2014.

The 4th International Conference on Automation in Mining will be held from 5 to 7 November in Viña del Mar, Chile.

It will provide an opportunity for mining professionals, operators, researchers and suppliers to discuss experiences and innovations in automation and related technologies as they apply to mining, minerals and metals.

MIPAC business development manager Darren Hill will deliver a speech about how to prioritise process control improvements using evidence derived from plants’ data systems.

Darren recently delivered a similar paper on this topic at the 2014 AusIMM Mill Operators’ Conference. It is available for download here.
