PLANT DETAILS
The Super Pit produces up to 850,000 ounces of gold every year and its operation far outweighs any other mining centre in Australia. The Super Pit is the biggest gold open pit mine in the country.
The Super Pit is managed by KCGM and owned (50/50) by Newmont Australia and Barrick Gold Corporation.
CONTROL SYSTEM







PROJECT SCOPE

The purpose of this project is to evaluate ultra fine grinding (-10 micron) of sulphide concentrate prior to gold leaching, using IsaMill™ fine-grinding technology. The reason for using this technology is to eliminate the need for roasting sulphide concentrates and the associated environmental issues.

MIPAC SCOPE

• Commissioning and tuning grinding control loops and strategies
• Review and modification of control strategies as required
• Training process operators
