Mipac Inc is headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, providing mineral processing operations across the United States with on‑the‑ground engineering capability, backed by a global delivery team of more than 150 automation and digital specialists.
Established in 2023, our Tucson office anchors Mipac’s North American presence and supports clients across the copper belt states, delivering control system modernization, greenfield control system design, process optimization and electrical and instrumentation engineering for mineral processing operations.
From concentrators and smelters to leaching, solvent extraction and crushing circuits, we help operators stabilize performance, modernize aging control environments and deliver new facilities designed for long‑term operational readiness.
Why Tucson
Our Tucson presence ensures:
- Faster engagement with US‑based operations and project teams
- Local engineering leadership supported by deep global expertise
- Practical, operations‑focused solutions grounded in real plant experience
Tucson’s location places Mipac at the centre of one of the largest copper producing regions in the United States, with direct access to major operations across Arizona, Nevada and other neighbouring mining states. This allows us to work closely with US owner‑operators and EPC partners to deliver complex processing facilities.
The region also aligns strongly with our experience. For almost three decades, Mipac has worked in copper processing operations globally, spanning concentrators, smelters, refineries and hydrometallurgical plants, including leaching and autoclave circuits. That experience underpins our approach in North America, where operators face mounting pressure to modernize control systems, improve stability and enable safer, more predictable production.

These projects span both greenfield and brownfield environments and reflect the breadth of Mipac’s experience across copper and gold processing routes.
Leadership on the ground
Mipac’s US team is led from Tucson by Matt Bott, Lead Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) Systems Engineer.
Matt brings more than a decade of hands‑on experience delivering automation and control solutions for mineral processing facilities. He has worked across multiple commodities and operating environments, supporting control system upgrades, greenfield developments and operational improvement programs in collaboration with site teams and global vendors.
Every member of the Tucson-based engineering team brings substantial mineral processing expertise, gained through hands-on work at operating sites around the world. This practical background is reinforced by close collaboration with Mipac’s global subject matter experts and established relationships with leading automation vendors including Emerson, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB and AVEVA.
How Mipac supports North American operations
Mipac acts as a trusted engineering partner rather than a software or hardware reseller. Our approach is rooted in operational realities and focused on delivering sustainable, long-term performance improvements for our clients. What sets us apart:
- Nearly 30 years working inside mineral processing operations
- Vendor agnostic engineering aligned to each site’s operating strategy
- Capability across the full automation pyramid, from instrumentation to plantwide analytics
- Proven delivery in brownfield and greenfield environments
- Long term client relationships, including sites supported for more than 20 years
Our US clients benefit from consistent engineering standards, proven control philosophies and scalable delivery models that reduce risk and deliver defensible outcomes.
Proven results in North America
Mipac recently supported a North American smelter facing increasing instability following years of incremental control changes and rising process complexity.
By stabilizing critical control strategies and improving operational visibility, the site achieved measurable improvements in stability and operator confidence, creating a platform for further optimization initiatives.

How is Mipac different from other automation engineering firms?
Mipac differs from traditional automation integrators because:
- We bring almost three decades of experience working within mineral processing operations, not just around them.
- We are independent and vendor agnostic, ensuring solutions are tailored to client needs rather than tied to specific products.
- We deliver across the entire automation pyramid, from instrumentation and control systems to advanced analytics and optimisation.
- We focus on long-term operational performance and sustained improvement, not simply project completion.
- Many of our clients have trusted Mipac as a strategic partner for more than twenty years.
Our approach is grounded in operational reality and committed to sustained outcomes.
