Previous updates
MPA 1.11.0 | March 2025
Strengthening performance & stability
MPA is now faster and more responsive, with reduced load times and improved efficiency.
We’ve also enhanced logging and introduced data source test connections to identify data source errors.
Annotations
To improve collaboration, decision making and traceability, users can now annotate individual cells on a data grid and view a comment history, including who commented and when.
Workflow enhancements
We’ve enhanced workflows to make them more powerful and adaptable to your needs. New features allow builders to create expressions, rename columns, sort and filter within the workflow.
These updates enable more efficient data handling, better organisation, and improved usability — helping you get the most out of your workflows with less effort.
Logsheet and reporting enhancements
Logsheets and reporting always benefit from flexibility, so Mipac has given users greater control over writeable cells, allowing them to have more flexibility.
Builder & admin experience
Managing MPA displays, workflows, and gadgets is now even easier. A new workflow list view provides visibility into all workflows where they are used, drag-and-drop display ordering simplifies configuration, and improved error messages make troubleshooting easier when importing displays.
Event capture (preview)
Who doesn’t like shiny new things? This release introduces a preview of MPA’s event detection capabilities, laying the groundwork for event-driven insights and operational response in future releases.
Event capture will play an important role in our upcoming Production Monitor application.
MPA 1.10.0 | September 2024
Golden State application (NEW)
This new application assists operations in detecting and responding to production deviations by offering a clear and simple representation of when operations exceed defined limits. Its drill-down capability enables teams to quickly identify contributing factors to deviations, facilitating prompt and informed decisions to bring operations back on track.
Single sign on (SSO) with Microsoft Entra ID
Leverage the new SSO capabilities with Microsoft Entra ID, simplifying the login experience and reducing the need for users to remember multiple usernames and passwords. This feature lightens the administrator workload while providing enhanced security through a more streamlined and secure authentication process.
Logsheet application improvements
Enhancements include the addition of searchable dropdowns, improved time handling, and ad-hoc data entry capabilities, broadening support for new logsheet use cases and improving overall usability.
TARP application improvements
The TARP application has been upgraded to leverage the new workflow engine, including improvements to the TARP timeline gadget. This update offers additional settings, increasing flexibility for a more tailored experience.
Production Reporting application improvements
New workflow blocks (Fact Table, Pairwise, and Cumulative Sum) have been added and existing workflow blocks have been updated. These improvements expand MPA’s capability to support a broader range of production reporting use cases with enhanced functionality.
Significant display and gadget improvements
We’ve simplified the process for creating, renaming, reordering, and deleting tabs, and enhanced the experience of moving gadgets between tabs. Configuration panes now provide a more consistent and intuitive configuration experience across MPA.
Application management improvements
The new application overview page offers quick access to displays, workflows and settings. Teams can easily identify which workflows are associated with specific gadgets and track recent changes for more efficient system management.
MPA 1.09.0 | December 2023
Data workflow engine
The workflow engine has been overhauled, bringing improved usability and performance for all MPA users. Builders now have access to features including sub-workflows, block versioning and tagging, allowing efficient and flexible system configuration. Builders can build workflows combining any number of PI Web API, CSV, and SQL data sources.
Data source administration
Administrators can connect and name multiple PI Web API, CSV, and SQL data sources, enhancing your organisation’s ability to access and utilise data from your existing investments.
Application infrastructure
Users can comfortably navigate MPA application displays from the updated home page, navigation drawer, application overview page and header bar. The system setup process supports typical roles and responsibilities. Administrators can create and brand applications and then assign the applicable data sources. This enables builders to create displays (e.g. logsheets, reports) under each application to meet your organisation’s needs.
Write-back, auditing and annotations
MPA supports the write-back of data to all supported data sources, further enhancing the capabilities of MPA Logsheet and MPA Alarm Manager applications. All write-operations are audited so history is retained, such as who made the change and when. Also, all users can annotate values in the Data Grid from any workflow to help facilitate communication between your teams.
Legacy support
MPA version 1.9.0 retains support for existing landing page cards, views, workflows, and blocks.
