Mipac is sponsoring the University of Queensland’s student society EBESS (the Electrically Based Engineering Student Society).
The society’s members are students from disciplines including electrical engineering, computer systems engineering, and mechatronic engineering.
“EBESS provides engineering students with representation on university boards, knowledge-sharing opportunities, and the chance to grow social and professional networks,” Mipac Managing Director Eddie DeRivera says.
“We are donating $500 towards running an EBESS trivia night in August.”
“Sponsorship is a great way to support EBESS in hosting quality events and for Mipac to develop relationships with up-and-coming engineers.”
EBESS social representative, Bianca Crow, is also a student engineer at Mipac.
“I am really enjoying my time at Mipac because I am able to apply my knowledge to real engineering problems,” Bianca says.
“I am working on a loop tuning training package and appreciate working with Kevin Kropf and Bruce Northway who have shared many words of advice that have helped prepare me for working in industry.
“My year with Mipac is giving me a fresh perspective on my studies, an opportunity to test theories and an insight into career possibilities.
“And the work environment is fantastic. People are genuinely interested in making sure I get the most out of my time here and that I also enjoy work. They are very supportive.”
